Marching Band

The marching band is made of of youngsters from the Thurrock and surrounding areas and takes part in many community events, carnivals, school events and also takes part in competitions taking it all over the UK and also onto the continent in Europe. The band is open to anyone to come along and have a go and no experience is necessary. Our fully trained and eCRB checked staff weill get you up and running in no time in the areas of Brass, Percussion, Tuned Percussion and via our Colourguard, Dance and Choreography. We take on youngsters as young as 6 or 7 through to 16 - 17 years primerily, but we will consider youngsters that fall either side of that. All we ask is that you are willing to learn, have fun and meet new friends. Do that and you will fit in perfectly here at Thurrock Marching Brass.

Community Events

Performing within the community is vitally important to the band and whenever time permits they are entertaining people at Fetes and fairs, festivals, openings, at supermarkets and just about anywhere that space allows. Including performing christmas carols for local care home residents to fanfares and lone buglers for special occasions.

Carnivals & Parades

Remembnerance Day Parade in South Ockendon is an annual fixture and the chance for the band to pay its respects to so many who gave their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom that we do. In additiona, other parades locally as well as enjoying colourful carnivals across Essex are fixtures that the breally enjoy getting involved with.

TV & Major Events

The band have appeared as a featured item on BBC1's Inside-Out London and have also assisted James Rhodes and Channel 4 in the making of the series Don't' Stop the Music both on and off screen. More recently they have appeared on a prime time television advert for Suzuki Cars UK with the dynamic duo, Ant & Dec.

The band perform intricate routines that are staged on a football pitch to visuals that depict the concept for the selected show. The show changes each year and to add further to the achievements all musicians must learn their music off by heart for their performance.
