On Monday 31 July the young members of Thurrock Marching Brass will be treated to a visit from a New York Times best selling author. He will be talking to them about his fun and exciting journey in creating and publishing, what is rapidly becoming, a global favourite among young and old alike.
The author is flying over from Australia to be with the members, but he hasn’t always lived in Australia. You see, this best selling author is a former Thurrock Marching Brass front line talent, and member of the 1986 DCUK Championships winning front line ensemble.
He also happens to be one of the brothers of our own Chairman :-).
Christopher D. Morgan will be coming along to have a lot of fun with the youngsters at their Monday evening rehearsal and without giving too much away the kids are in for the most amazing of times with all sorts of fun and games planned for the evening.
Speaking of the evening, Thurrock Marching Brass’ Corps Director, Jay Lindner said “What a fantastic opportunity for our kids to interact with not only a TMB vet, but to also have the opportunity to learn about becoming an author, or to understand how to become a better writer in what they do at school. This is the sort of educational visit that I fully support for our members, and knowing just a small portion of the Morgan family myself, if he is anywhere near as excitable as our chairman the kids are in for one giddy evening! I would like to thank Christopher for putting us on his schedule and very much look forward to meeting him and his family while they are here in the UK.”
Thurrock Marching Brass is proud to perform as much as they can within the community and you can keep up to date with all their engagements on our website below or by following them on Facebook.
