On this day in 1973 a young man named David J. E. Loader launched something that would change thousands of lives forever. October 18, 1973 was the birth of Thurrock Drum & Trumpet Corps, which changed its name a few years later to Thurrock Marching Brass. The band ceased operations in 1989 but the colourguards continued entertaining audiences not just locally but around the world. Happy 44th birthday TMB :-)
October 18, 2010 was therefore a fitting date in the calendar to re-launch TMB for youngsters and so, happy 7th birthday to the next generation taking this great name forward.
To each and everyone of you out there who have been a part of the journey, be it in the band or the colourguards, a very happy birthday to you all.
2018 sees the 45th anniversary of TMB and we are working on something very special to honour this milestone. We will be sharing details of this shortly and will be open to anyone to come along and get involved with.
One love, one TMB xx
