What a great day it was at the 2019 British Youth Band Association (www.byba.org.uk) National Individuals & Ensembles competition on Sunday 17 November.
Thurrock Marching Brass took participants from all sections of the corps and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them for facing their fears and having the courage to stand up on their own or in small groups to showcase their talents. We are absolutely delighted to report that every single TMB member came home with at least one medal.
In the colourguard category, TMB had three members who progressed into the final 4 to compete for the Young Guard Performer of the Year, and this was won in magnificent style by our very own Grace Rose who performed a stunningly beautiful and skillful routine on the day. All other competitors for the title received a well deserved Silver medal for reaching the finals.
In the music categories Tenor drummer Daniel Reynolds topped his category with a score that also saw him join three other competitors who battled it out for the coveted title of the Young Musician of the Year and although Daniel didn't win the title, he earned, along with his fellow participants who also narrowly missed out on the title a well deserved Silver medal.
With a total of 8 Gold Medals, 6 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals across all categories the youngsters of Thurrock Marching Brass have demonstrated once more that they can shine under any circumstance.
Congratulations to each and every member, all of whom put their routines or selected their musical pieces themselves for their performances.
